NBC circles ITV’s Rings

US network NBC has ordered a pilot based on a gameshow format from two ITV Studios-owned companies.

5 Gold Rings launched on SBS6 in the Netherlands

5 Gold Rings  launched recently in the Netherlands on SBS6 and will air in the UK on ITV early this year. NBC has acquired the show for a pilot that will be produced by ITV Entertainment.

The format was co-created by UK-based Possessed and Netherlands-based Talpa, both of which are owned by ITV Studios, the production entity operated by UK commercial broadcaster ITV.

The show sees players answering questions by placing rings of different sizes on an interactive LED screen while viewers at home are able to play along via their mobile phones.

Talpa Global launched the format on the international market at Mipcom last October.
