Nat Geo, Tigress link on gorilla doc

National Geographic in the US is partnering with Endemol Shine Group-owned Tigress Productions on a documentary series about gorilla researcher Dian Fossey.

Sigourney Weaver, who played Fossey in the 1988 film Gorillas in the Mist, will narrate Dian Fossey: Secrets in the Mist, which hails from executive producer James Marsh.

The three-part series will draw on more than 40 hours of previously unseen film footage of Fossey and her research into gorillas.

The programme is currently in production and will air on National Geographic Channel in 171 countries and 45 languages this fall.
