Nat Geo heads to frontline

National Geographic Channel is prepping a new series following the elite US Air Force rescue squads working on the frontline in Afghanistan.

Premiering in February, Inside Combat Rescue is being produced by National Geographic Television, which has spent four months embedded with the Pararescue unit on the battlefield.

The Pararescuemen swoop into the heat of battle in their PaveHawk helicopters to lift injured soldiers to safety. Nat Geo has been given unique access to their work with cameras mounted inside and outside helicopters and on airmen’s helmets.

For National Geographic Television the series producer is Jared McGilliard and executive producers are Ted Duvall and Jerry Decker. For National Geographic Channel the executive producer is Richard Wells.

The channel previously aired similar behind-the-scenes army docs Restrepo and Inside the Green Berets.
