Nat Geo gets magical

National Geographic Channel (NGC) in the US is climbing aboard the trend for magic shows after signing a deal with Passion Distribution for two series.

The US paynet has picked up The Happenings (4×60’), which features magicians Barry and Stuart convincing unsuspecting residents in towns across the UK and US that mysterious events are occurring. It was produced for UKTV’s entertainment channel Watch and is a coproduction from Crook Productions and Objective Productions.

NGC will also broadcast the second season of Dynamo: Magician Impossible (4×60′). The series, which will start its fourth season on UKTV’s Watch later this year, has already been sold into more than 200 territories and is produced by Phil McIntyre Television and Inner Circle Films for Watch. It also currently airs on UK pubcaster BBC1.

Both shows will air on NGC later this year.
