MTV Latin America is readying the first Spanish-language version of online dating series Catfish, which is currently in production in Bogota, Colombia.

^[1]Based on the documentary film of the same name, the format focuses specifically on couples who have fallen in love online but who are yet to meet face-to-face.

Catfish Colombia will be hosted by local radio and TV personality Diego Saenz and co-host Sebastian Parra and is set to begin airing across Latin America from September 26.

The news comes after C21 revealed ^[2] last month that a local version of Catfish is back on the agenda at MTV in the UK, while Ukrainian ^[3], Brazilian and Mexican versions are also in the pipeline.

The format is distributed globally by Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN).
