MTV claims Conde Nast exec

Viacom-owned MTV has appointed a Conde Nast Entertainment executive to oversee its original programming efforts.

Michael Klein

Michael Klein becomes exec VP of original content with a remit across the network and its associated brands. He assumes the responsibilities of former programming president Susanne Daniels, who left the firm to join YouTube last summer.

Mina Lefevre and Laura Dolgen, exec VPs of scripted and unscripted development respectively, had been overseeing programming for MTV following Daniels’ exit and had reported to Stephen Friedman, the network’s former president.

Friedman was replaced last October by Sean Atkins, who now reports to Doug Herzog. The latter was named president of Viacom Music and Entertainment Group last year. Lefevre and Dolgen now report to Klein, who in turn reports to Atkins.

Klein was most recently exec VP of programming and content strategy for digital channels at Conde Nast, and before that worked for Sundance Channel on shows including Push Girls.
