MTG’s Viaplay befriends Peppy Pals

MTG’s Nordic streaming service Viaplay has ordered an animated children’s show based on an app series that has been downloaded in more than 150 countries.

Peppy Pals is being produced by MTG Studios and introduces five animal characters through short stories to help children deal with real-life issues such as stress, bullying and loneliness.

The 16-part series is based on apps aimed at kids aged two to eight from app developer Peppy Pals, with the show set to be made available exclusively on Viaplay from September.

It follows MTG’s first kids’ original, The Great Escape, which premiered in December 2016, and joins more than 50 original productions on MTG Studios’ slate.

Ira Gladnikoff, head of Viaplay, said the show “reflects our commitment to content that combines education and entertainment.”
