Moonves: Supergirl, Limitless to return

US network CBS will be renewing all five of its freshman shows for a second season, according to its CEO Leslie Moonves.

Moonves, speaking at the Deutsche Bank 2016 Media, Internet and Telecom Conference in Florida yesterday, said all five series will return.

“We have five new shows on this year. I believe all five of them will be renewed, and we own four of them,” Moonves said.

The series Moonves was referring to are Supergirl, Limitless, Code Black, Life in Pieces and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, which launches next week.

Moonves’ comments come after the Eye Network axed another freshman series, Angel From Hell, after five episodes, and confirmed its Emmy-winning drama The Good Wife will end after its current seventh season.

Last month it ordered two comedy pilots including one starring future Top Gear presenter Matt LeBlanc.
