An independent Scandinavian production company has picked up local rights to a food-focused format from Israel’s Armoza Formats.

Monday Media aims to adapt The Foodies in Denmark and Norway.

Developed and produced by Armoza, the show has already been acquired by Endemol Shine for production in Germany and Italy. Broadcasters are yet to be attached to either deal.

The show, which can run to 30 or 60 minutes per episodes, is described as a docu-reality series that joins a new group of foodies each week as they take over a new restaurant and rate the food, service and ambience.

Lasse Hallberg, CEO of Monday Norway, said: “Audiences today are very engaged around the topic of food, making it a popular genre for TV content.

“What really set apart The Foodies for us is its multi-platform concept, which enables it to fit perfectly both as a traditional broadcast show and on any digital platform, through all the funny and relatable social moments that it creates.”
