MK Media Group factual heads east

NATPE: Broadcasters across Asia and the Middle East have acquired factual programming from Ukrainian producer and distributor MK Media Group at Natpe here in Budapest this week.

Da Vinci Learning in Sri Lanka has acquired Infotoy (26×7’), a documentary entertainment show for kids aged 14-plus that tells the story of how famous toys were created and by whom.

Beity TV in the UAE and Dubai has picked up Lunch Box (100×12’), a culinary show with ideas for brightening up work and school lunch boxes.

MK has also negotiated the pay TV and free-to-air rights to its weaponry documentary series Arsenal (52×13’) with an unnamed broadcaster in Jordan.

All three series were produced by MK’s in-house production outfit MeetMinds Studio in Kiev.

The news comes soon after MK confirmed deals with three networks in Europe. Wildlife documentary Antarctica: The Journey to the End of the Earth (1×45’) was licensed to Rai TV in Italy.

SIC in Portugal, meanwhile, acquired Brazilian kids series Patati Patata for its channel in Angola and Mozambique, and Lithuanian net Delfi TV took puppet show Mouse Science (13×11’).
