Endemol Shine Group-owned prodco Truly Original has recruited an executive producer from History Channel for its programming and development team.
Stephen Mintz has joined the New York-based company as VP of programming and development, having worked on Truly Original’s Swamp People during his time at History.
Also among Mintz’s credits at History were Ice Road Truckers and Appalachian Outlaws, plus specials The LA Riots: 25 Years Later and Navy SEALs: America’s Secret Warriors. Prior to joining History, Mintz was an executive producer at VH1.
Mintz will work on the Truly team led by executive VP of programming Lauren Eskelin and executive VP of development Bryan Hale. Its series include The Real Housewives of Atlanta (Bravo), Ink Master (Spike) and Hack My Life (TruTV).
The firm also has multiple projects in development for networks such as MTV, TLC, BET, Bravo, Logo and VH1.
Truly Original co-presidents and CEOs Steven Weinstock and Glenda Hersh said in a joint statement that Mintz’s “versatility and experience” in multiple different genres would be useful as the company “continues to broaden and diversify” its slate.
