Milkshake! boss out at C5

The head of children’s at Viacom-owned UK broadcaster Channel 5 (C5) has left the company.

Jessica Symons joined C5 in 2006 and was given responsibility for its children’s programming block Milkshake! in 2012, having previously been manager and then commissioning editor of children’s content.

A C5 spokesman confirmed to C21 that Symons has left the company and that Clair Robinson has taken on the role on an interim basis.

Milkshake! is the free-to-air home of Peppa Pig in the UK, while Symons’ commissions at the channel have included Dave’s Dinosaurs, Wissper and Winnie & Wilbur.

Viacom, owner of global kids’ network Nickelodeon, took control of C5 in 2014.
