Melanson exit sparks Radical reshuffle

Boat Rocker Studios in Canada rejigged the management of its kids’ division Radical Sheep and factual arm Crooked Horse.

Shaleen Sangha

Shaleen Sangha has been promoted from her current role of senior director to VP of Radical Sheep, the Toronto-based animation firm Boat Rocker acquired in 2016.

Sangha is replacing Michelle Melanson, who was named president of Radical Sheep following the acquisition and has now decided to leave to “pursue other opportunities,” the company said. Her last day is January 18.

Sangha, who joined Radical Sheep last year from DHX Media, will assume immediate control of the firm’s day-to-day activities, including development and production.

David Lerech

She will report to Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier, co-executive chairman of Boat Rocker Media and co-presidents of Boat Rocker Studios.

Meanwhile, at Crooked Horse, David Lerech has been promoted from VP to senior VP and will continue to oversee all day-to-day activities at the firm, including development and production, reporting to Schneeberg and Fortier.

Crooked Horse was set up last year to replace the factual and unscripted division of Temple Street Productions, which Boat Rocker acquired in 2016.
