Medialaan, M6 show taste for Extreme Cakes

Baroness Karren Brady fronts Twofour’s business series Give It A Year

Medialaan in Belgium and M6 in France are among the European broadcasters to have picked up 130 hours of unscripted content from UK-based distributor Twofour Rights.

Medialaan has taken a package that includes Extreme Cake Makers, originally produced by Boomerang for Channel 4 in the UK, and Channel 5’s long-running series The Hotel Inspector.

Both shows have also been sold to M6, which has also taken on the UK, US and Australian versions of self-improvement show This Time Next Year, which originally aired on ITV.

This Time Next Year has also sold to Discovery in Italy having recently wrapped its third season in the UK.

Meanwhile, Sky Italia will be airing a package of shows including Extreme Cake Makers, World’s Most Expensive Presents and Hidden Restaurants.

In Benelux, VRT in Belgium has secured rights to air Second Chance Summer and RTL in the Netherlands has licensed Give It A Year, Twofour’s new business time-travel series with Baroness Karren Brady.

Discovery Spain has secured rights to the latest season of Impossible Engineering 4. The new run will air in the US later this year.

Twofour Rights is the distribution arm of ITV-owned production outfit Twofour.
