Mediacorp names Loke Kheng as CEO

Singapore media company Mediacorp has appointed a pay TV veteran as its CEO to replace the outgoing Shaun Seow, who is moving to parent company Temasek.

Tham Loke Kheng

Tham Loke Kheng will take up the role from September 1, having worked for Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (now Mediacorp) before moving to become president of Taiwan Broadband Communications. More recently she headed up Now TV, the largest pay TV operator in Hong Kong.

Loke Kheng will succeed Seow, who revealed earlier this year that he would be stepping down.

At Temasek he will join the telecom, media and technology investment team, which includes Mediacorp in its portfolio.

Ernest Wong, chairman at Mediacorp, said Loke Kheng “understands both Mediacorp and the Singapore audience and has gained extensive commercial experience in the region.

“With a passion for media coupled with well-honed media skills, she is more than ready to lead Mediacorp in meeting the challenges ahead.”
