Mediacorp, Endemol launch gamer

Singapore-based entertainment channel Mediacorp Channel 5 is launching a 26-episode gameshow coproduced by Endemol Shine Asia.

Cash Struck!, which will debut in February, sees contestants in teams of two pit their skills to guess a word that links two pictures, earning tokens on a digital screen.

The deal for the mobile app game marks the first coproduction between Mediacorp and Endemol Shine Asia, which are jointly developing and producing Cash Struck! in Singapore.

The format was originally devised by Endemol Shine Israel and Create It Studio.

Endemol Shine Asia has previously licensed global formats The Money Drop, Deal or No Deal and Minute to Win It to Mediacorp and has also successfully rolled out formats such as Big Brother, Your Face Sound Familiar, Fear Factor and The Brain across the region.

“We are very keen to increase our local partnerships here in Singapore to create and commercialise content that can be viewed locally, regionally and internationally on any platform. We see strong synergies with Mediacorp and look forward to doing more great shows together,” said Fotini Paraskakis, MD of Endemol Shine Asia.
