MarVista makes scripted hire

US producer-distributor MarVista Entertainment is continuing its push into scripted, appointing Gaylyn Fraiche to the newly-created position of VP of development and production.

Fraiche, previously exec VP at Martin Chase Productions, is now charged with developing and producing original live-action scripted longform programming for both domestic and international productions and coproductions.

She will report to MarVista’s exec VP of production and development Robyn Snyder.

Fraiche (American Girl, Sparkle) is the LA-based firm’s latest addition as it looks to make its mark in scripted series production.

Last month, MarVista bolstered its senior management team with a string of appointments, including hires from HBO, Disney Television Animation and Summit Entertainment.

Meanwhile, MarVista has brought in Danette Nelson to the post of controller, reporting to chief financial officer Susan J Young. Previously, Nelson was assistant controller at VisionArt Design & Animation, which eventually became Santa Monica Studios.

MarVista has also hired Alan Kuei as financial analyst to focus on budgeting and forecasting.
