Magine TV names CEO

Sweden-based Magine TV has appointed a new CEO after founder Mattias Hjelmstedt stepped down from the role.

Dr Ambuj Goyal assumes the position after a nine-month stint as Magine TV’s president and chief operating officer.

Dr Goyal has been a member of the Magine TV board since May last year and has overseen investment in innovation and tech development during his tenure. He will replace Hjelmstedt, who will continue to serve on the firm’s board.

“Magine is moving into the next phase of innovation and commercialisation of its technology,” said Hjelmstedt.

“This is the right time to pass the torch to Ambuj, who has the right leadership qualities to take Magine to this next level. As well as working on new ventures personally, I will continue to advise him as a member of the Magine board.”

Dr Goyal has a background in leading technology-driven businesses, having held a number of pivotal roles during his 31-year career at IBM.

Magine TV is available in Germany and Sweden, with new markets and partners to be announced later this year.
