Madiba tops Dynamic slate

C21 AT NATPE: Madiba, the landmark drama miniseries based on the life of Nelson Mandela, will lead the slate for US producer and distributor Dynamic Television at Natpe in Miami this week.

Madiba (6×52’), starring Laurence Fishburne, tells the story of Mandela’s struggle to bring racial equality to South Africa. It was produced and financed by Blue Ice Pictures and Out of Africa Entertainment with the UK’s Leftbank Pictures and Cinema Gypsy Productions.

The drama will premiere on BET in the US on February 1 and is being shopped to buyers at Natpe by Dynamic.

The distributor’s slate also includes Hulu’s Emmy-nominated original series East Los High (60×30’). The English-language series with an all-Latino cast follows the lives of teenagers at an East Los Angeles high school.

Other shows on the slate include Shock Shark (1×90’), a Syfy feature from Curmudgeon Films about voltage-generating electric sharks that terrorise a trailer park.

Valentines Again (1×90’) is a Hallmark Channel show from UFO International Productions about a woman searching for love who finds herself stuck reliving Valentines Day.
