David Lynn, currently president of Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) in the UK and Northern and Eastern Europe, is now president and CEO of VIMN overall.

The role sees him take control of channels outside the US and reporting to Bakish, who stepped up [1] to CEO of the whole company at the end of last year following Tom Dooley’s short reign.

Lynn, who previously served as senior VP and marketing director for Nickelodeon UK, will be based in London but will also work in Viacom’s New York office.

Since its formation in 2011, VIMN has grown in profitability and recently acquired UK terrestrial Channel 5 for its portfolio.

Bakish said: “Viacom’s international business has grown strongly over the last decade and our operations managed out of the UK, under David’s leadership, have been integral to that growth.

“David has an outstanding track record at the helm of our UK business, including leading our successful acquisition and integration of Channel 5, and I have great confidence in his ability to conceive and deliver an even more ambitious growth strategy for VIMN in the years ahead.”
