LoveFilm powers up with Rangers

Amazon-owned LoveFilm has struck a deal with Saban Brands to bring 20 years’ worth of Power Rangers episodes to its video-on-demand service.

The deal also makes the live-action Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation available to stream, alongside the entire Power Rangers franchise, from the first episode to the most recent Super Samurai season, available in HD.

This builds on deals already made for libraries of children’s content with the likes of Aardman, Marvel and DHX Media.

Chris Bird, director, film strategy at LoveFilm, said the acquisition will allow Power Rangers to be enjoyed by “a whole new audience of children and will also ensure that grown-ups can catch up and reminisce on their favourite episodes instantly.”
