Lonesome Dove rides to Hulu

Hulu has landed streaming rights to iconic western miniseries Lonesome Dove, 25 years after it originally broadcast on US network CBS.

The drama, based on Larry McMurtry’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, is now available on both Hulu and Hulu Plus. Its three sequels: Return to Lonesome Dove; Larry McMurtry’s Streets of Laredo; and Larry McMurty’s Dead Man’s Walk, are also offered on both services.

The series, which were originally broadcast by CBS in 1989, tells the story of the last US frontier and the men and women who conquered it. It is distributed in the US by Sonar Entertainment.

Lonesome Dove prequel, ‘Comanche Moon’, aired on CBS in 2007. The 3×120′ series was a coproduction between CBS Paramount Network TV and Sony Pictures TV.
