Local brides visit Europe

The US and Irish versions of reality format Don’t Tell The Bride will air in the UK and Europe.

The original Renegade Pictures format, where husbands-to-be are left to plan the big day with no input from their fiancées, aired on BBC3 in the UK before Shed Media produced a US version for OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.

That US version has now been sold back to the UK by distributor DRG and will air on both BBC3 and UKTV diginet Really.

Lei in Italy, The Living Channel in New Zealand, Lifestyle You in Australia and Finland’s Liv channel have also picked up the US version and the latest fifth season from the UK.

DRG has also secured sales of the Irish version, produced by Coco TV, which has aired for two seasons on RTÉ. Again, Really in the UK and New Zealand’s Living are the takers.

The finished programme has been sold to more than 130 territories so far with 12 locally produced versions airing around the world.
