Little Dot adds BBC, Turner alum

UK indie Little Dot Studios, founded by former All3Media duo Andy Taylor and Selma Turajlic, is bringing in a former BBC and Turner Broadcasting exec to oversee its content strategy and brand partnerships.

Nick Cohen is joining from marketing agency MediaCom as VP of content, strategy and brand partnerships. Starting work in February, he will oversee the studio’s business with brands and agencies, as well as providing strategy and development expertise.

Little Dot was formed 18 months ago and creates content and manages YouTube channels for more than 30 clients including broadcasters such as ITV and Channel 4, as well as brands such as Pepsi Max, Cadburys, Benefit Cosmetics and Unilever.

It also runs original YouTube channels including Daily Mix, which recently won a development deal with C4 to produce new formats for the broadcaster’s Shorts service.

Cohen is currently managing partner and head of content at MediaCom, owned by marketing giant WPP, where his remit includes content, social media, SEO and digital creative.

Prior to that Cohen spent time at the BBC, as multi-platform commissioner for factual and before that was EMEA director of broadband and interactive television for Turner Broadcasting.

Taylor said Cohen would assist Little Dot during what he described as a “vital period of growth,” with his appointment following that of C4 veteran Bob Harris, who joined in August as technology advisor.

Little Dot is backed by All3Media, which is now jointly owned by Discovery Communications and Liberty Global.
