Little Boy Blue makes ITV Choice

Little Boy Blue is based on an infamous child murder in Liverpool

ITV Choice, the UK broadcaster’s entertainment network for Asia, the Middle East and Africa, has picked up Liverpool-set true crime series Little Boy Blue.

The first episode, which aired on ITV in the UK in April, will be shown on December 13 in India, Malta, Thailand, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The 4×60’ series was written by Jeff Pope and produced by documentary and drama producer Kwadjo Dajan for ITV Studios.

The drama centres on the murder of 11-year-old Rhys Jones, who was gunned down in Liverpool in 2007, and the impact of his death on his parents and the city as a whole.

Stephen Graham plays Detective Superintendent Dave Kelly and Sinead Keaton and Brian F O’Byrne play Rhys’ parents, Melanie and Steve Jones.

The production worked closely with the Jones family to ensure the content was accurate and respectful, and it was filmed on location in Liverpool and the north-west of England.
