Lionsgate adds Bicks to growing talent roster

US studio Lionsgate has signed an overall deal with an award-winning writer behind series including Sex & the City and current HBO drama Divorce.

Jenny Bicks, whose credits also include The Big C, Dawson’s Creek and Men in Trees, will develop and produce original TV series with Lionsgate.

He is currently working on HBO’s Divorce series, which reunites her with Sex & the City Star Sarah Jessica Parker.

Lionsgate Television Group chairman Kevin Beggs made the announcement today, adding Bicks to a growing roster of talent tied to similar deals.

Justin Simien (Dear White People), Yvette Lee Bowser (Black-ish), Eric and Kim Tannenbaum (Two & a Half Men), Courtney Kemp (Power) and Paul Feig (The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale) have all signed with the studio recently.

Eugenio Derbez and Ben O’Dell (Overboard, Instructions Not Included), Nashville’s Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz, and Dexter’s John Goldwyn are all also now tied to deals with Lionsgate.
