Lion carries off Twenty Twenty exec

All3Media-owned production outfit Lion Television has appointed an exec from Twenty Twenty to the newly created role of creative director of factual.

Lisa Edwards, previously director of programmes at the Warner Bros Television Production UK firm, will be charged with leading Lion’s push into popular factual, features and factual entertainment genres.

Lion’s recent credits include BBC series Pompeii: New Secrets Revealed with Mary Beard, Marathon Man with Eddie Izzard, Big Dreams Small Spaces with Monty Don.

At the end of 2015, Lion appointed Simon Shalgosky from Keshet Productions UK as its new head of entertainment development.

“Lisa has a very rare combination of proven success in independent production and a fantastic track record as a commissioner at both Channel 4 and the BBC. She is joining Lion at a very exciting time in our work both here in the UK and the US,” said Lion MD Richard Bradley.

Edwards, who was at Twenty Twenty for three years, said she was “looking forward to my next creative challenge.”

Last year, Warner Bros Television Production UK merged its subsidiaries Watershed TV and Twenty Twenty to create a broader creative team.
