Lilyhammer lands in Italy, Korea

Broadcasters in Italy and South Korea have picked up Netflix-backed Norwegian mobster series Lilyhammer from distributor Red Arrow International.

Sky Atlantic in Italy and South Korea’s Green Narae Media have acquired rights to the first three seasons of the drama, produced by Norway’s Rubicon for NRK and US streaming giant Netflix.

Meanwhile, Germany’s TNT Serie has picked up pay TV rights to the programme’s third season, which has also sold to Latvian Public Television, LRT Televizija for Lithuania and A Media Film for Russia.

The series tells the story of a New York mobster who moves to the Norwegian town of Lillehammer after going into a witness protection programme.

Last month Middle Eastern VoD service Icflix picked up the show for 23 countries across the Middle East and North Africa.
