Lifetime takes MarVista telemovie

US cable network Lifetime has picked up telemovie Starving in Suburbia from LA-based producer-distributor MarVista Entertainment.

The 1×90’ feature (aka Thinspiration) follows a 17-year-old dancer who joins a ‘thinspiration’ website, devoting herself to the almost religious glorification of thinness, and becoming an obsessive follower of the site’s founder.

MarVista’s Fernando Szew, Sharon Bordas and Hannah Pillemer exec produced the film in association with Indy Entertainment.

Starving in Suburbia is one of six telemovies produced by the company that will debut at MipTV next month, the others being: Kristin’s Christmas Past, A Fairytale Christmas, My Santa, Runaway and Fatal Acquittal.

The feature will air on Lifetime on April 26.
