The as-yet untitled 10×60′ series will feature shortform content and air weekly via Legendary’s streaming platform Alpha on its Nerdist channel.

The show is being produced by Don’t Think Productions, the TV production unit of the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), which was founded by Poehler alongside fellow performers Matt Walsh, Matt Besser and Ian Roberts in the 1990s.

The UCB will tap into its network of writers, performers and creators in New York and LA to create a wide variety of comedy content. The project is designed to showcase undiscovered comedic talent and will feature content ranging from sketches to serialised narrative.

Prior to its partnership with the UCB, Nerdist founded The Nerdist School comedy training programme for future writers, performers and producers which taught through improvisation techniques.

“At Nerdist, we are committed to providing opportunities for comic talent, and no one does this better than UCB,” said Adam Rymer, president of Legendary Digital Networks.

“Through this partnership, our audience can expect to see fresh, new comedic writers and performers deliver a wide scope of original content as we continue to deliver a high-quality experience to Alpha members.”
