Lagardère dives into Reservoir

Lagardère Entertainment is set to acquire French talkshow and entertainment producer Reservoir Prod.

The production company was founded by the late TV host and producer Jean-Luc Delarue, and was meant to be sold following his death in August last year.

Reservoir produces France 2’s daily afternoon talkshow Toute Une Histoire, along with some M6 primetime formats such as property show Maison a Vendre.

According to French daily Les Echos, Lagardère Entertainment has made a joint offer with the company’s management, which has been accepted by the legal representative of Delarue’s son. The sale will be completed within a few weeks.

Lagardère declined to comment on the news this morning.

Lagardère Entertainment is currently expanding its production activity in entertainments and formats as well as abroad, having recently made an unsuccessful bid to acquire MTG.

Group Lagardère is restructuring its activities and TV content is one of the areas it is keen to to develop.

The group has money to spend having sold its 20% stake in Canal+ France last month, and it is also in the process of selling 10 of its press titles.
