Kudos hands Wilson creative promotion

Endemol Shine Group’s UK production company Kudos has appointed exec producer Karen Wilson to oversee creative.

Karen Wilson

Wilson, who has been an exec producer at the Broadhurch prodco for more than 15 years, takes up the newly created role of creative chief at Kudos immediately with a remit across all of its programming.

Her credits include The Tunnel for Sky Atlantic, the pay network that is also behind fellow Kudos show Tin Star, and she will work closely with CEO Diederick Santer and chief operating officer Martin Haines as the company prepares for further growth.

Santer described Wilson as “a brilliant and confident colleague” who “epitomises all the values we aspire to at Kudos, and I’m thrilled to be working with her even more closely across all our output, including three as yet unannounced commissions.”

Her promotion comes after the exit of Alison Jackson, who had been with the company since 2007. Jackson moved to Narcos producer Gaumont to lead its forthcoming UK office.

Earlier this year, Kudos revealed it is developing a TV adaptation of a forthcoming companion novel to the Emily Brontë classic Wuthering Heights.

Ill Will (working title) is based on the novel of the same name by author Michael Stewart due to be published by HQ Harper Collins in March. The deal was signed by Sue Swift, head of literary acquisitions for Kudos.

Kudos has also opened a new office in the north of the UK, appointing former BBC producer Laura Conway to run it, and hired fellow BBC exec Sarah Stack as its head of development.
