Kudos goes in search of Heathcliff

Endemol Shine Group’s UK prodco Kudos is developing a TV adaptation of a forthcoming companion novel to the Emily Brontë classic Wuthering Heights.

Ill Will (working title) is based on the novel of the same name by author Michael Stewart, due to be published by HQ Harper Collins in March. The deal was signed by Sue Swift, head of literary acquisitions for Kudos.

The drama series will tell the story of Brontë’s enigmatic anti-hero, Heathcliff, during the period halfway through Wuthering Heights when he disappears from the story for three years.

The series will be executive-produced by Emma Kingsman-Lloyd and Diederick Santer at Kudos, which is known for series including Channel 4 and AMC coproduction Humans and ITV crime series Broadchurch.

“Michael Stewart’s brilliantly atmospheric and clever story gives us a provocative and profound insight into this well-loved hero and answers the question that has haunted fans for generations,” said Kingsman-Lloyd.

In other news, Kudos’ Alison Jackson, who had been with the company since 2007, has been hired https://www.c21media.net/gaumont-hires-kudos-exec-for-uk-arm/ by Narcos producer Gaumont to lead its forthcoming UK office.
