Kinetic names programming chief

Kinetic Content, the US prodco backed by Germany’s Red Arrow Entertainment Group, has promoted one of its execs to executive producer in charge of programming.

Eric Detwiler

Eric Detwiler will oversee the delivery of Kinetic’s entire slate of programmes including social experiment shows Married at First Sight and Seven Year Switch for FYI and The Spouse House for TLC.

He will also work on documentary series such as Little Women: LA, Little Women: Atlanta and Little Women: Dallas, as well as lifestyle/food programming such as Man vs Master and Man vs Child.

Detwiler, who will work in conjunction with other showrunners at Kinetic, including Sam Dean (Married at First Sight, Kiss Bang Love), most recently led the production of Kinetic’s Little Women franchise for Lifetime.

Later this month, the US network will premiere the latest spin-off to the Little Women franchise, Little Women: Couples Retreat. Detwiler reports to Kinetic founder and CEO Chris Coelen.

“Eric Detwiler is an incredibly talented creative producer and true leader,” said Coelen, who added that the appointment would allow the prodco to “continue our rapid expansion while maintaining the quality of our programmes.”

Before joining Kinetic, Detwiler was executive producer of shows including Southern Charm for Bravo and The TO Show for VH1.

Kinetic has also previously been behind ABC’s The Taste and My Diet Is Better Than Yours, as well as Betty White’s Off Their Rockers for NBC.
