Killer Karaoke claims new victim

A Czech version of Zodiak Media’s extreme singing format Killer Karaoke is in the works and is expected to air early next year.

Barrandov TV in the Czech Republic will air the series, produced by Real TV, in which competitors do their best to sing along to popular tunes while others do all they can to disrupt them.

The format is set to make its debut in the Netherlands tomorrow on RTL5, while a 25-episode season began airing in Russia on U-TV in March, produced by Zodiak-owned Mastiff.

The show has also been sold into the US, where it airs on TruTV, hosted by Steve-O (Jackass), as well as Germany (Comedy Central), New Zealand (TVNZ), Australia (Foxtel) and Africa (Sony Max).

The format itself is a spin-off from Zodiak’s Sing if You Can, which has been sold into 50 countries so far, including the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden and Brazil.
