Keshet rom-com goes Dutch

Dutch commercial channel Net5 has commissioned a local version of an Israeli romantic comedy from formats specialist Keshet International.

The Baker and the Beauty

The Baker and the Beauty (formerly known as She’s With Me) is being adapted by FremantleMedia-owned Dutch prodco FourOne.Media.

The plot follows a seemingly impossible love story between a baker and an international superstar.

The 8×45’ Dutch version will launch in April as Bagels & Bubbels: zij hoort bij mij, which reflects the contrasting humble and champagne lifestyles of the lead characters.

Ana Henriques, channel manager for Net5, said romantic comedies such as Doris and S1ngle had done particularly well for the network in the past.
