Keshet adds UK duo

The UK arm of Israel’s Keshet Media Group has brought in execs from Shine Group and John Stanley Productions (JSP) to grow its formats and comedy production operations.

Shine’s Kevin Mundye joins Keshet UK as head of UK formats and global consultant and JSP’s Ashley Blaker as head of comedy.

Mundye will represent and adapt Keshet’s entertainment and factual entertainment formats for UK broadcasters.

He was previously executive producer at Shine Group’s internal formats division, where he was responsible for the international roll-out of global formats such as The Biggest Loser, One Born Every Minute, Got to Dance, Clash of the Choirs and The Face.

Meanwhile, Blaker will look after Keshet’s comedy slate in the UK, following his recent post at All3Media-owned UK prodco JSP, where he co-created and co-wrote forthcoming BBC1 series Pompidou.

He was formerly head of development at Graham Norton prodco So Television and has held development roles at At It Productions, Shine and BBC Comedy. Blaker also co-created, co-written and produced two series of The Matt Lucas Awards.

The duo will work alongside Keshet Media Group’s VP of content Ran Telem and UK creative consultant Dave Morley to develop new original properties for UK television.

“We are committed to building our UK operation and will be looking to further “beef up” our creative team in the UK over the coming months,” said Keshet UK chief operating officer Sammy Nourmand.

Keshet UK is part of Keshet International, the company’s global distribution and production arm, which had been due to get a UK version of talent format Rising Star till ITV dropped the plan last month.
