Keo forms cross-platform indie

Keo Films, the UK indie behind the River Cottage franchise, has launched a division that focuses on cross-platform content for television and online.

K2 Productions is founded and headed by Colleen Flynn and Nick Underhill, who will be creative director and MD respectively. The firm will come under the Keo umbrella and will report to MD Debbie Manners.

The company will create content across all platforms for innovative broadcasters and leading brands and will begin operating on December 1.

Moving from Keo to K2 will be Tony Hallam as content exec producer, Jake Lea-Wilson as content senior producer and James Burrough as a content producer.

The company said it aims to bridge the gap between digital and television content targeting the 16-34 demo.

A number of current BBC3, Channel 4 online and brand-funded projects will transfer to the multidisciplinary team.

These include Bangkok Airport and Tom Felton: Meet the Fanatics, both for BBC3, and online projects River Cottage Foodtube, a series of shorts for C4 on Britishness, a BBC Learning project and a brand-funded series with MEC Global.

K2 is looking to expand its team and will be recruiting a number of new staff from television and digital backgrounds in the coming months.
