Kenya goes for Got Talent

Kenya’s Got Talent will be the latest adaptation of the FremantleMedia and Syco Entertainment format, following a deal with African media group Clouds Media International.

Local broadcaster Kenya Television Network (KTN) will air its own version of the show, which started out in the UK seven years ago and has now been sold into 63 countries by FremantleMedia International (FMI).

The multi-year deal will see Cloud’s subsidiary content firm, Status Communications, produce three series of the reality format.

The Got Talent format was created by Simon Cowell and is co-owned and produced by Syco Entertainment and FremantleMedia.

FMI has sold the US version, America’s Got Talent, into 193 countries. The format was recently commissioned by TV Azteca in Mexico.
