Kanal 5 plans ABC’s Murder

Swedish network Kanal 5 has acquired a forthcoming US legal drama from ABC for its fall schedule.

How to Get Away With Murder has been created by Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy) and Betsy Beers (Scandal) and follows a group of law students and their mysterious criminal defence professor, played by Viola Davis.

It is being produced by ABC Studios and Shondaland Productions, founded by Rhimes, and has been written by executive producer Peter Nowalk.

The series has been slated to debut in the US on September 25 and will air on SBS Discovery-owned Kanal 5 in October.

Kanal 5 has previously been the Swedish home for US dramas including CBS’ Under the Dome and Lifetime’s Devious Maids.
