Kabillion rides with Wendy

US VoD service Kabillion has acquired exclusive rights to the 3D CGI animated series Wendy, which also airs on ZDF in Germany and France Télévisions.

The 26×24′ toon is based on the comic of the same name and follows a teenage girl who loves horses and is an accomplished rider and show jumper.

The series is set to launch exclusively on Kabillion this month and is produced and distributed by UK-based animation company Red Kite for Wendy Promotions Limited.

As part of the agreement with Red Kite, Kabillion will also be handling the digital distribution of the series on other platforms within the US.

“We will use Kabillion as a platform to build an audience for the series and will then provide viewers the ability to watch it on other digital platforms,” said David Di Lorenzo, VP of licensing and digital distribution for Kabillion.

The company is a subsidiary of Mike Young’s Splash Entertainment, which recently rebranded having previously been the US arm of French animation firm Moonscoop, which entered administration last year.
