Job Description:

Great Pacific Media, the factual arm of Thunderbird Entertainment with offices in Vancouver and Toronto, is looking for a full-time, permanent Unscripted Development Producer.
 
Reporting to the V.P. of Development, the Development Producer is a highly creative and driven individual possessing outstanding proposal writing and sizzle producing skills with a proven track record in the factual, science, history and lifestyle genres.

Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Create new series across the factual and lifestyle genres for domestic and international markets
  • Write pitches and development bibles that sell
  • Cast new characters and talent in the factual and lifestyle worlds
  • Write sizzle reel scripts, direct development shoots and oversee development edits to create outstanding sizzle reels
  • Stay on top of current TV programs, trends and industry developments

Job Requirements:

  • Curiosity, creativity, initiative, grit
  • Clear, engaging and fast pitch writing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong editorial judgement
  • Keen understanding of domestic and international television marketplace
  • Minimum 10 years experience in unscripted development, or relevant production duties, with a solid record of creative results that sell.
  • University degree or College Diploma in communications, journalism or other relevant disciplines
  • A highly motivated creative with the ability to juggle projects and meet deadlines to help the team hit it out of the park
