Jane Street goes down food road

US-based production outfit Jane Street Entertainment has launched a unit focusing on food-related formats within the travel, lifestyle and culinary genres.

The new arm, titled Yum, will be led by exec producers and showrunners Vivian Sorenson (Chopped) and Kate Kenny (Guy’s Grocery Games), who will focus on creating new unscripted food formats.

Kenny has launched Food Network shows such as Chopped, Sweet Genius, Beat Bobby Flay and Guy’s Grocery Games, while Sorensen has worked on Wife Swap, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and The Bachelor.

Jane Street’s other food-focused series, such as Rachael v. Guy, Sweet Genius, Kitchen Casino and Cook Your Ass Off, are to be managed within Yum. Non food-related programming will stay under the larger Jane Street banner.

The company recently appointed Boundless Productions exec Gemma Davies to oversee all aspects of development.
