IWC hires ex-Maverick exec

Mark Downie

Banijay Group-owned UK prodco IWC has appointed a former Maverick Television executive as its new creative director.

Mark Downie will be based in Glasgow and will be responsible for overseeing and driving IWC’s creative output to expand its existing popular and specialist factual slate.

Downie has freelanced for the past year, as executive producer on ITV’s RTS-nominated Gordon Ramsay on Cocaine and development executive at Label1 and 7Wonder.

He previously worked at Maverick TV, where he was chief creative officer between 2013 and 2016. His credits while there include Embarrassing Bodies (Channel 4), Bizarre ER (BBC3) and The Truth About Sugar (BBC1).
