ITVS’s Possessed picked for gameshow

Possessed, the ITV Studios (ITVS) entertainment production label set up by Glenn Hugill, has secured its first commission and made a number of appointments to its senior management team.

The firm, founded last year, has been commissioned by ITV Daytime to make Stephen Mulhern-fronted gameshow Pick Me (25×60’), which will launch in October.

Piloted earlier this year, the show sees the host pick someone from the audience to compete against a panel of three players each trying to win £1,000.

The news comes alongside two appointments at Possessed this week.

The company has brought in Paula Cowles as production executive and Kate Stannard as development executive. Together with Hugill and recently appointed development executive Paul Brassey, they form Possessed’s senior management team.

Cowles joins Possessed from the ITVS entertainment team, where she was production executive and line producer for the previous three series of Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, among other shows.

Stannard was mostly recently a senior producer at Studio Lambert, where she produced Steph and Dom Meet… (Channel 4). She was previously senior development producer at Monkey Kingdom. Brassey joined Possessed earlier this year from CPL Productions.

Pick Me is executive produced by Hugill and series produced by Luke Shiach, with Stannard as the senior producer for Possessed.

The show was commissioned by Helen Warner, ITV’s director of daytime. The format will be distributed internationally by ITV Studios Global Entertainment, which will launch it at Mipcom this October.
