ITVSGE unveils Mipcom slate

ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVSGE) will launch a number of scripted titles at Mipcom next month, led by US drama Aquarius, Canadian comedy Schitt’s Creek and UK period drama Poldark.

Set in the 1960s, Aquarius (13×60’), from Tomorrow Studios for NBC, stars David Duchovny as a police sergeant with a complicated personal life who starts tracking a small time criminal who’s seeking out vulnerable women to join his cause.

Meanwhile, Schitt’s Creek (Not A Real Company Productions for CBC; 13 x 30’) is about a rich video store magnate forced to relocate his family to a little town he once bought. The series was created by Eugene Levy and stars Levy and Catherine O’Hara.

ITVSGE is also shopping forthcoming drama Poldark (8×60’) from Mammoth Screen and WGBH for BBC1 and Masterpiece.

The series, which stars Aidan Turner (The Hobbit Trilogy, Being Human), centres on the return of war veteran Ross Poldark, who finds his Cornwall home in ruins and his former fiancée engaged to his cousin.

Also on the slate is Scandi mystery thriller Jordskott (10×60’), a mystery crime story that follows the disappearance of a child in the small community of Silverhöjd.

The drama is produced by Palladium Fiction in association with SVT and directed by Henrik Björn and Anders Engström. The series was written by Björn.

ITVSGE’s other new scripted titles for Mipcom include Cilla (ITV Studios for ITV; 3×60’), Cockroaches (Big Talk for ITV2; 6×30’) and Remember Me (Mammoth Screen for BBC One;3×60’).

The firm will also launch the latest series of its long-running drama franchises, including Mr Selfridge series three, Vera series five, The Doctor Blake Mysteries series three, Lewis series eight and Murdoch Mysteries series eight.
