ITVSGE takes Oddbods

ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVSGE) has acquired the UK licensing rights to Oddbods, the animated kids’ comedy series from CG animation studio One Animation.

The series will air on ITV kids’ channel CITV, showing five-minute shorts throughout its autumn 2015 schedule, with longer-form episodes due in spring 2016.

Created and produced by One Animation, Oddbods follows the adventures of seven characters, each with distinctive colours, characteristics and personalities. Its non-dialogue, slapstick comedy targets a family audience.

Oddbods began its international roll-out in October 2013 with a 46×5’ TV series and has since secured a raft of international broadcast and mobile partners, including Disney XD and Turner Broadcasting.

In January, 224×1’ mobile sketches launched on the official Oddbods YouTube channel, since notching up over 23 million views.

ITVSGE will be seeking licensing partners to launch a range of Oddbods spin-off merchandise to target the kids and early teens markets from the third quarter of 2016.
