ITVS Oz exec joins Ten

Network Ten has hired the former head of entertainment at ITV Studios (ITVS) Australia to bolster its executive production team.

Hilary Innes joins Ten on Tuesday as a senior member of the executive production team, reporting to chief programming officer Beverley McGarvey.

Innes departed ITVS in mid-June after 10 years with the prodco and has yet to be replaced.

Ten did not specify her title or the shows she will work on initially but ITVS Australia MD Anita Jacoby told C21 she was looking forward to working with Innes on the second season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, which will go to air in 2016.

Jacoby said: “Hilary has made an extraordinary contribution both professionally and personally. She is one of the most outstanding creative producers I’ve worked with.”

Innes’ credits include I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation, Mad as Hell, Please Marry My Boy, Come Dine With Me, Dancing on Ice, Battle of the Choirs, The Royal Flying Doctor Service and Australia’s Next Top Model.

Previously she was head of entertainment and an executive producer at the Nine Network and exec producer/series producer at the Seven Network.

McGarvey said: “Ten is the fastest-growing commercial network in Australia this year and the time is right to add to our very talented executive production team. Hilary is one of the best in the business and has been responsible for some of the best and highest-rating television programmes in Australia over the past 30 years.”
