ITV Studios names US scripted boss

ITV Studios America has named a former Endemol Studios CEO as its president of scripted programming.

Philippe Maigret will oversee ITV Studios America’s scripted portfolio in the newly created role. He will be based in LA and will start the job on August 10.

Maigret, who launched Endemol Studios in 2011, was at the combined Endemol Shine Group before leaving in March.

His appointment comes after Orly Adelson stepped down as head of ITV Studios America last week to join Dick Clark Productions.

“This is the next step in fulfilling our ambition to build a global scripted business,” said Kevin Lygo, MD of ITV Studios.

“We have already made significant progress and with Philippe at the helm in the US we’ll accelerate that growth. His track record is very impressive, not least in launching a scripted business and quickly turning it into a leading independent producer.”

Maigret added: “The scale of ITV Studios America’s operations, coupled with its distribution footprint and its global creative resources across drama and comedy programming, provides a powerful platform to build a creatively and commercially ambitious US scripted business.”

Maigret joined Endemol in March 2010 as exec VP of acquisitions. Prior to that, he was senior VP of business strategy and development, international, at Disney-ABC.
