ITV SGE shops formats to Vietnam

Vietnamese broadcaster VTV3 has commissioned local versions of two formats from ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITV SGE).

Sing My Song

Sing My Song

Sing My Song, originally created by Star China, will get a 10-episode run on the channel, with local prodco Cattiensa Media working on the Vietnamese version for a premiere in early 2016.

The studio-based music contest sees four of the music industry’s most accomplished singer-songwriters provide feedback and guidance to contestants, while scouting for songs and talent to feature on their own albums.

Star China produced the original for CCTV-3 in China in 2014 and a second season recently launched.

VTV3 has also commissioned 26 episodes of 12 Yard’s primetime family entertainment format Big Star’s Little Star, which will begin airing on Saturday evenings in July. This is the second Asian deal for the format, following Korean broadcaster JTBC commissioning the show.

Big Star’s Little Star now has six international versions airing in countries including Finland and Belgium. The show features celebrities teaming up with their young children to complete tasks as they try to win money for charity.

The deals were brokered for ITV SGE by Elsie Choi, senior sales manager for Pan-Asia, Southeast Asia and India.
